Controlling material properties with light is an emerging new option including the possibility to control the amount of charge carriers (photoconductivity), the alteration of the magnetic state or the information control and readout in quantum bit systems. We intensively investigate the charge carrier dynamics in pervoskite based photovoltaic materials (methyl ammonium halides), the quantum state control in diamond nitrogen vacancy centers, and the magnetic state. Our experimental tools include microwave detected photoconductivity, magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and combined magneto-optical methods.
